2012 Summer Paralympics torch relay

The 2012 Summer Paralympics torch relay will be run in August 2012, prior to the 2012 Summer Paralympics, with the theme to be agreed. [1]

The relay will last for 5-10 days and a number of people will carry the torch a certain distance each.[2][3] The relay is held entirely within the United Kingdom, the host country.

The torch will start in London on 24 August 2011, Belfast on 25 August, Edinburgh on 26 August and Cardiff on 27 August. All four flames will make their way to Stoke Mandeville for the 28 August where they will link up forming the Paralympic Flame. From there the torch will travel back to London for the opening ceremony the next day.[4]
